After Melbourne experienced severe weather on 9 October 2016, a video of a Qantas 737 with a failed landing has gone viral.
Published on Facebook page, Socially Random, the video at the time of this post has had over 675,000 views with more than 20,000 shares.
You can find the post here.
The only problem? This video isn’t from today or even 2016.
It was filmed by YouTube user dfens360 on the 5th of May 2015. As per the video description, the wind was W 31 knots gusting to 35 knots at the time of the incident.
I have no doubt we will see this video continue to go viral over the coming hours as major media outlets have joined in and produced media articles (Triple M, My GoldCoast etc).
Perhaps they are all too busy competing for page views rather than fact checking?
