Walking down Las Vegas Boulevard, you’re sure to hear the gush and boom coming from the gigantic water fountains. Without a doubt the best free attraction in Las Vegas, the Fountains of Bellagio need to be on your list to visit.
The Bellagio Luxury Resort & Casino is an opulent and extravegant hotel that is designed to transport you to Paris or Rome. And, what do you picture when you think of those cities? Fountains.
The lake itself is huge, if you tried to fill it up with your everyday garden hose it would take more than a year to fill it up. Filled with 1,214 water jets, during the show you can see the fountains shoot up to be more than 24-stories tall.
The fountain shows run regularly every day of the week. If you are a light sleeper and plan on going to bed before midnight (you are in Las Vegas after all), I would recommend staying away from the Bellagio. I stayed at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and didn’t hear a thing.

Where should you watch the show from?
Take the time to view the show from multiple vantage points.
My favourite is to stand on Las Vegas Boulevard, along the Bellagio Terraces watching a show choreographed to Frank Sinatra. Though they do seem to cater for everyone with Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Faith Hill, Elvis Presley and Celine Dion also on rotation.
If there is even a slight breeze, be prepared to get a little wet. I saw people who went all out with ponchos but this isn’t The World of Color at Disneyland, you are not going to get soaked.
The viewing areas do fill up quite quickly. If you can’t get to the front for the first performance, just stay around the area and move forward later on.

From the Las Vegas Boulevard, you get a view of the fountains and the elegant Bellagio Resort & Casino.

Taken from the Bellagio Las Vegas Resort & Casino side, the music is a bit more difficult to hear as you are closer to the fountains. Though, the view over the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and ‘Eiffel Tower’ is simply stunning.
